Boutonné (or knop)

Small knops, or rather balls and clumps of fluff that form during spinning and are incorporated into the yarn. This technique is used to give textured yarns a bobbly effect, sometimes in various colours. These yarns are used both in knitwear and fabrics like Donegal and Knickerbocker.
