Herringbone (or Chevron in French)
The term is rich in synonyms: twisted, sown, fish hook etc. Basic design of carded or combed fabrics, made on a woolen armor by inverting the diagonal direction in intervals, so as to mimic remaining peaches or ears of wheat. The pincers are very much used in lambs and in draperies for overcoats, coats, jackets etc.
