Robust cotton fabric with serrated structure, worked on woolen armor, sometimes even on "broken rope". Warp yarn is an indigo twist (vegetable color), while the weft yarn is carded white. The name comes from the American deformation of Genoa, the city where the fabric has its origins. A cloth with the same characteristics was also manufactured in Nimes, from which also the name "denim". It is produced in different weights, always expressed in once. Before or after the packaging of the characteristic clothes, especially the well-known "blue jeans", is handled in a variety of ways: simple washing in water, chlorine wash (belavé flash), scrubbing with pumice stone.
