Abacá (or Manila hemp)

A textile fibre extracted from plant leaves called "musaceae" (Musa textilis, Musa × paradisiaca, etc.) from the Philippines. It is used raw to manufacture twine, sailing ropes, baskets, mats, hats and, in the sites of production, for special textiles.
